goldengoose includes a built-in appearance system so you can tune readability without changing your workflow. Open Preferences with Cmd/Ctrl + , and look for Appearance settings.

Theme

You can switch the app theme between:
  • Light
  • Dark
  • System (follow your OS)

Font sizes

goldengoose lets you independently control text size across key surfaces:
  • Chat panel (main agent thread UI)
  • Team Comms (team-wide messaging surface)
  • Markdown viewer (File View rendered Markdown)
Shortcuts:
  • Increase font size: Cmd/Ctrl + +
  • Decrease font size: Cmd/Ctrl + -
Font-size shortcuts apply to the currently active surface (chat vs team comms vs File View).

Conversation display

Two settings that often make the biggest difference:
  • Tool Timeline Verbosity: choose whether tool-call details are Hidden, Summary, or Full.
  • Thinking traces (where supported): choose whether model “thinking” summaries start expanded or collapsed.

Planned customization (coming soon)

We plan to add richer customization over time, including:
  • font family selection,
  • density/spacing controls,
  • and more theme options beyond Light/Dark/System.
